What a cookie is, briefly
A small file the site stores in your browser. Some are needed for the site to work at all; others exist to count visits or to follow you across sites. We use the first kind, and the second only with your consent.
What we store without asking
One single entry, and it isn't even a cookie: your answer to the consent banner, kept in your
browser's local storage under viveto_cookie_consent. It exists so we don't ask you the
same question on every page. It carries no identifier and never leaves your browser.
The contact form also carries the moment you opened it, sent along with the message. It's an anti-spam measure — a form filled in under three seconds is a robot — and it is not stored afterwards.
What loads only after you accept
Statistics from an external provider. We use none today. If we ever add one, nothing loads before you press “Accept statistics”, and pressing “Essential only” means nothing loads at all. There are no advertising, remarketing or social-network cookies on this site, and there is no third-party script that runs without your consent.
Our own page counter, which needs no consent
We count page views with a counter of our own, on our own server. It is worth saying exactly what it does, because it is not what a normal analytics service does:
- It writes nothing to your browser and reads nothing from it — no cookie, no local storage.
- It stores your IP address nowhere, neither in the clear nor in a log.
- To avoid counting you ten times in one day, it derives a fingerprint from IP and user agent using a salt that rotates at midnight. The old salt is not kept, so today's visits cannot be linked to tomorrow's — not by us, and not by anyone else.
- Nothing is sent to a third party. The data stays on our server.
- If your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control, we do not count at all.
Because it neither stores nor accesses information on your terminal equipment, the counter falls outside Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive and needs no consent. The basis for the short-lived fingerprint is our legitimate interest in knowing which pages are read — proportionate precisely because the output is a number, not a profile.
Fonts and images come from us
Every font on this site is served from our own domain. We do not use the Google Fonts CDN, so your IP address never reaches a third party just because you opened a page. The same goes for images and scripts: everything you load comes from viveto.ro.
How you change your mind
Any time, and it takes one click.
You can also clear site data from your browser settings, which removes the stored answer and brings the banner back on your next visit.
